Education and vocational training

I have been fascinated by language and other countries and cultures for as long as I can remember. This is why I chose a modern languages track at high school, focusing on Latin, English and Spanish. By the time I completed my Abitur (German high school diploma), I knew for certain that this was the career path I wanted to pursue.

In the winter semester of 2003/04, I began studying at the Institute of Translation and Interpreting at Heidelberg University, with English and Spanish as my working languages. I successfully completed the intermediate diploma (Vordiplom) there two years later. Keen to deepen my language skills and expand my horizons, I spent the academic year from September 2005 to June 2006 as an Erasmus student at the University of Valencia, where I continued studying translation with the same language combination.

Afterwards, I moved to the prestigious Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translatology (IALT) at the University of Leipzig, where I continued my advanced studies and completed my degree at the end of March 2009.

Personal interests

As a balance to my language-focused work, I like to stay active. I am a member of the German Alpine Club (DAV) and the German National Cyclists’ Association (ADFC), and like to spend as much time as possible outdoors. Road cycling, mountain biking, bouldering and hiking all help me recharge; exercise and fresh air are essential to me.

Along with sport, I am passionate about reading, writing, travel and music. I play the guitar and enjoy discovering new cultural perspectives, whether through travel, literature or poetry slams. 

These wide-ranging interests enrich both my personal life and my professional work, bringing openness, creativity and a keen eye for detail.
