Career
Education/Studies
Languages, foreign countries and different cultures have always fascinated me. This
is why I opted for modern languages in high school with Latin, English and
Spanish. After finishing school I knew that I wanted to continue on this way.
Hence, I enrolled with the languages English and Spanish at the Institute for
Translation and Interpreting at the University of Heidelberg in the winter term of
2003/04. After two years of studies I successfully passed the intermediate
exam. In order to improve my language skills and to broaden my horizon, as of
the winter term of 2005/06 I accepted an Erasmus scholarship of 9 months for
the University of Valencia, Spain. I continued my translation studies there with
the same subjects. Because of the good reputation of the Institute for Applied
Linguistics and Translatology at the University of Leipzig I did my main course
there. I finished my studies successfully in March 2009.
Professional experience
During my studies I used every chance I could get in order to prepare myself as good
as possible for the future work as a translator. I did traineeships at a translation
agency in Stuttgart and at a big car manufacturer in Munich. Besides, I worked
as a proofreader and as a teacher giving private lessons and working for
institutes. As of January 2008 I began to do freelance translations. For further
information please visit the respective sections Translation, Interpreting,
Proofreading and Teaching. |
